Update (20200531-1651): problem occurs less frequent but still is an issue. If I want new drivers, I update the linux kernel and modules, done. On Linux one has a package manager handling software and all updates. Now I am very glad I merely use Windows for gaming (and aerating). So, apparently I have to check every device in the device manager manually to get proper updates. I have not yet tested whether these new adapter drivers solve the recent D3 gaming problems, but I am going to report back in within a few days.īTW: I update the graphics drivers manually (manual download from nvidia) and I figured all drivers get updated by windows update after some time. So, thank you very much for your marvelous suggestion! The new network adapter drivers were at least 2 years newer. Surprise, surprise, there were indeed updates for both my LAN devices (both are bridged so I get 2GBit on local network, plus failure safety). I did not look even look for a downloadable network device update, I merely went to the adapter settings and checked for an update. I was not thrilled (pardon the pun) about that suggestion, because silly me thought, that windows update also includes drivers.
